Mansoor Noor is an actor, filmmaker, writer, photographer (Mansoor Noor Photography) and occasional tiktoker with over 600K double taps.

So how’d it all start? Well Mansoor was cast as The Grinch in primary school. No one had ever seen a Muslim Grinch before but in hindsight the typecasting checked out.

He’s appeared as self involved party boy Ryan in hit CBS series Colin From Accounts, head journo Jeremy Clay in BBC series The Secrets She Keeps (where he revealed all the secrets…she keeps), owner of a space agency in Trip For Biscuits, a bad cop in Cleverman and Project Eden, and if that guy wasn’t bad enough he also played Terrorist #1 in Embedded. That's right, terrorist roles lead to larger terrorist roles which lead to great lead roles... right? He also played supporting characters in period Western The Furnace, and rom-com Sit. Stay. Love. Next up you can see him as tv studio floor manager, Kai in the The PM’s Daughter.

You also may have seen him in a five ad campaign breaking up with his Mac for HP computers, boogying with a Ram in a Rams commercial, singing to a horse for TAB or repairing cars for Allianz.

Since completing drama school at the Actors Centre, he’s been nominated for three consecutive Sydney Theatre Awards for his work in Stupid F$@king Bird at New Theatre for Best Lead Male Actor in 2018, Omar + Dawn at Kings Cross Theatre for Best Supporting Lead Male Actor in 2019 and Stop Girl at Belvoir for Best Supporting Actor in 2021. Last year he made his Sydney Theatre Company debut in the 2022 remount of Grand Horizons and this year he made his Griffin Theatre Company debut, in Nicholas Brown’s bold new queer work Sex Magick.

Why filmmaking? Well, after many years of child labour as the family videographer he decided to get a Bachelor of Film from Griffith Film School. Now he refers his family to his website for rates… and they refer him… to Allah.

He’s co-produced indie feature film 500 Miles, through his company Performance Pictures, and written, produced and directed a number of shorts including HE’S ISIS, which has won several awards including ‘Best Performance’ at the Reel Comedy Fest in Chicago. In 2021 his audio series Golden Boy won the 2021 ScreenCraft Podcast Competition. He is currently developing web series Rejecting Elle with assistance form Screen Australia. His latest bisexual comedy short film WHY NOT BOTH made it’s premiere at Sydney Mardi Gras Film Festival earlier this year.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

STOP GIRL REVIEWS (BELVOIR)

Nominated: Best Supporting Actor in a Leading Role in a Main Stage Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards

“Mansoor Noor in his usual intelligent, flawless and engaging reveal…”
- Kevin Jackson (KJ’s Theatre Diary)

“I was also taken by Mansoor Noor, who realises Atal with sensitivity and conviction.”
- Alex First (The Blurb)

“Mansoor Noor is memorable as Suzie’s resilient fixer and producer Atal.”
- Suzy Wrong (Timeout)

“Noor plays Atal’s comedic lines with innocence and offers humble wisdom and wake up calls to Suzie.”
- Michelle Sutton (Theatre Travels)

“Mansoor Noor is soulful as the quietly spoken producer.”
- Virginia Balfour (Performing Arts Hub)

SON OF BYBLOS (DOWNSTAIRS BELVOIR)

“Actor Mansoor Noor brings polish to the production, playing Adam with great nuance and believability. It is admirable that Noor’s portrayal of a difficult existence is one of a man taking it in his stride, rather than only looking tortured.”
- Suzy Wrong (Suzy Goes See)

“The performances are convincing across the board, led by Noor. His head-to-head clashes with Claire and his parents are highlights.’
- Jason Blake (Audrey Journal)

“Mansoor Noor’s Adam is a brilliantly complex portrayal of a young man morally disfigured by pain, a protagonist who evokes equal parts sympathy and antipathy.”
- Paul Gilchrist (Theatre Red)

“Noor shines as the young man caught between transient night-time pleasures and the harsh light of the everyday.”
- Diana Simmonds (Stage Noise)

OMAR + DAWN (KXT)

Nominated: Best Male Actor in a Supporting Lead Role in an Independent Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards

“It is surprising perhaps, that the most poignant moments come from supporting actor Mansoor Noor, whose powerful depiction of Ahmed’s turmoil, has us spellbound and devastated. The authenticity in Noor’s display of despondency shows remarkable skill, and although profoundly heartbreaking, delivers some seriously delicious drama.”
- Suzy Wrong (Suzy Goes See)

“With a standout performance by Mansoor Noor. His humanity and authenticity remained throughout and his connection with the other actors was beautiful.”
- Lali Gill (Theatre Travels)

“Noor’s visceral character is heart-breaking. Hypocrisy is his experience and expectation and Noor underpins every moment with a preparation for it. This is a person we have not seen truthfully represented before; entirely believable and fully fleshed.”
- Judith Greenway (Reviews by Judith)

Mansoor Noor has been able to create not only the exterior of the man but also insight to the motivating interior, that invites the audience to identify and engage with his character's dilemma. It is a performance that is consistent with his other work: e.g. THE LADEN TABLE, an STUPID FUCKING BIRD. A very interesting actor.”
- Kevin Jackson (KJ’s Theatre Diary)

“Noor is heartbreaking, and at times striking, as Ahmed. He plots the devastating stubbornness of Ahmed’s hurt so well that the end of the play gives the audience an extremely sharp emotional relief.”
- Flick Anderson (State Of The Art)

“Noor is consistent and sharp throughout his challenging character.”
- Sean Maroney (The Music)

STUPID F*CKING BIRD REVIEWS (NEW THEATRE)

Nominated: Best Male Actor in a Leading Role in an Independent Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards
Winner: Best Independent Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards

Mansoor Noor’s memorable athleticism and emotional vigour as Conrad, form a reliable centre for the show’s quality of interminable liveliness.
- Suzy Wrong (Suzy Goes See)

Noor is just fucking relentless as Conrad… Beautifully played with manic mania and weeping self-pity.
- Judith Greenway (Sydney Arts Guide)

Mansoor Noor as the depressed misanthrope, Conrad, brings an energetic delight to the challenges of Mr Posner's play and his Director's 'commands', igniting into a fully fledged creation, exhibiting wit, intelligence and a high perceptive (wicked) sense of humour - he is a 'hurricane' of focused skill beneath the wings of this BIRD… STUPID FUCKING BIRD is a demanding 'farce' of intellect, vocal, physical and emotional judgement, skill control. It requires a cool head, objective technical control, and certainly not uncontrolled demonstrations of emotional states in an expressed intellectual conceptualisation of mega-theatrics. The text must be primary. Only Mr Noor, in this company, has it all. In spades.
- Kevin Jackson (KJ’s Theatre Diary)

The performances are all incredibly strong. Standouts come from Mansoor Noor (who) presents an artistic pretension and brooding.
- Jade Cops (Broadway World)

This propulsive and very funny production is going to be one of my favourite shows of the year. And I can say that even though we’re just over halfway through it. The actors are excellent across the board, led by Noor’s anguished Conrad, who at one point literally crawls the wall.
- Jason Blake (Audrey Journal)

TAKE TWO: Comedy of ERRORS REVIEWS (RIVERSIDE)

“Noor is very funny as the two Dromios.”
- Jason Blake (Audrey Journal)

“Mansoor Noor steals the show as both Dromios, with a devil-may-care charm and laid back humour.”
- Abbie Gallagher (Theatre Travels)

“It’s Noor whose comedic skills are particularly strong.”
- Tim Garratt (Theatre People)

BEIRUT ADRENALINE REVIEWS (DOWNSTAIRS BELVOIR)

Mention: Best Supporting Male Actor for Beirut Adrenaline - The Buzz From Sydney

“Mansoor Noor’s animated approach is delightful, and the confident demeanour he brings to the stage is refreshing and quite critical in adding a quality of exhilaration.”
- Suzy Wrong (Suzy Goes See)

"Mansoor Noor expertly evolved Toufic into a facade close to home. Noor’s portrayal gave me shivers as he transformed on stage from one kind of man to another and is arguably the standout of the piece.”
- Sabrina Stubbs (Theatre Now & Talking Arts)

"Standout performances by Neveen Hanna and Mansoor Noor. Noor showed great skills in dramatic effect that still seemed coy in his more aggressive or humorous moments, particularly haunting upon his return from an expedition with the militia.”
- Brodie Paparella (Broadway World)

“A brilliant Mansoor Noor.”
- Catherine Skipper (South Sydney Herald)

“Darkly handsome Mansoor Noor gives a splendid performance as the smooth, suave, Steve McQueen gun obsessed guy from his tense electric opening entrance… His breakdown is shattering.”
- Lynne Lancaster (Lynns Theatre Notes)

THE LADEN TABLE REVIEWS (KXT)

Mention: Performances I Admired (and Envied) - Kevin Jackson Theatre Diary

“Mansoor Noor and Jess Paterson give strong and gut-wrenching performances.”
- Emma Caldwell (Weekend Notes)

“This uncommonly large cast is excellent, led by Paterson and Noor.”
- Jason Blake (Sydney Morning Herald)

“The performances from all 12 actors are convincing. Mansoor Noor is especially alive and layered with complexity.”
- Kevin Jackson (KJ’s Theatre Diary)
